Housing First Köln SKM Köln e.v.

Housing First gives homeless people direct access to their own accommodation. They are given their own flat with a regular tenancy agreement. Having their own home forms the basis for stability, security and new prospects.

The programme is aimed at people who live permanently on the street or move between the street and emergency accommodation. Since 2025, Housing First has been implemented jointly by several social organisations in Cologne to give particularly disadvantaged people access to housing.

After moving in, voluntary social work support services are provided. These are geared towards the individual needs of the tenants and aim to stabilise the tenancy in the long term, secure everyday life in their own home and improve their personal living situation in the long term.
